Why do I do life coaching?

It didn’t start off with me taking a bunch of life coaching courses.

It happened more hands-on naturally, because I have had such a diverse and very interesting ongoing life - and accomplished a variety of things that took a substantial amount of focus and commitment and determination. Ultimately, I was able to do whatever I set my mind to - and I learned what it takes to do that. And friends or people I’ve met often wanted to know how I did such things - and if I could possibly give them the advice, inspiration, encouragement, and some kind of reasonable and doable nuts-and-bolts time-lined logistical framework that they were seeking for themselves.

Your Life is Fluid

I am a successful studio musician, composer and music producer / engineer. I worked on Saturday Night Live as a Music Producer for a number of seasons, and hold the rank of a 6th Dan USAF Black Belt Shidoin instructor in Aikido, who teachers at my Art of Peace Dojo in Upstate New York, where I have created an innovative program for kids and teens.

I was also the Creative Director at a top digital marketing agency in NY, have been a political strategist & digital advertising consultant for United States Congressional & Senate candidates, and a political-opinion-giving ‘talking head’ on cable TV. I gave back to my community as an elected official as the President of the School Board in one of the largest school districts in New York State.

As a member of Nile Rodgers Productions, I had the experience of working everyday in the recording studio with some great artists - from Madonna to Mick Jagger, and subsequently became the co-production manager & studio manager for Todd Rundgren for many years. I recently collaborated with Nile overseeing the Christie’s auction of his vast guitar collection which raised almost 2 million dollars for his We Are Family Foundation - the money going to help kids globally who have the desire to change the world in a positive way.

As a music producer, I have worked with artists / musicians like Dr. John, Kate Pierson (B-52’s), John Sebastian (Lovin’ Spoonful), Todd Rundgren, Levon Helm (The Band), Rick Danko (The Band), Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie / Gwen Stafani / Lenny Kravitz), hit songwriters Chip Taylor and Jules Shear, Sara Lee (Indigo Girls / Ani DiFranco), Jerry Marrota (Peter Gabriel), John Ashton (Psychedelic Furs) and James Taylor.

I have created my own life path - changing directions when I got bored or needed a change - and was never afraid to do that - and was often able to have multiple endeavors moving forward at the same time. I still do that!

I also saw how other successful friends and other artists that I worked with navigated through their lives, and I’ve spent much time talking to them to find out what their goals and challenges were, and how they got to where they wanted to be.
